Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh, and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Partner with IHF for Emergency Flood Relief

Collaborative Efforts Bring Critical Relief to Flood-Affected Communities in Bangladesh

The recent floods that swept across many parts of Bangladesh have left thousands of families in dire need, facing significant challenges to recover their homes, health, and livelihoods. At It's Humanity Foundation, we have been on the ground, leading emergency response efforts to support these vulnerable communities. Our work has been greatly enhanced by the generous support from the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SLBCCI), the Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh (SLAB), and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC.

Understanding the severity of the situation, SLBCCI, SLAB, and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC have stepped forward to provide critical humanitarian assistance. Their contributions include life-saving medicines such as saline, Flagyl, and Napa, all aimed at addressing the rising threat of waterborne diseases in flood-affected areas. In addition, these organizations have provided sanitary kits that include essentials like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, washing powder, disinfectant liquids, and mosquito nets—vital resources for maintaining health and hygiene during these difficult times.

IHF is dedicated to delivering these much-needed supplies to the most affected regions, including Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, Khagrachari, Rajnagar of Habiganj, and Moulvibazar. Each family will receive individual hygiene packs that cover basic necessities, with a strong focus on preventing the spread of diseases that often follow in the wake of such natural disasters. The comprehensive relief packages will ensure families have access to essential medicines and hygiene items, making a meaningful difference in their recovery process.

To mark this generous collaboration, a formal handover ceremony was held, where the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh, His Excellency Mr. Dharmapala Weerakkody, SLBCCI President, Mr. Najith Meewanage, General Secretary of SLAB, Mr. Tharindu Dissanayake, and representatives from Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, joined together with Founder and Executive Director of It's Humanity Foundation, Md. Adnan Hossain, Head of Programs- Ms. Noor-E-Fayzun Nahar and Senior Manager of Communication & PR- Mr. Mahin Hossain.

We at IHF are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support from SLBCCI, SLAB, and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. Their contributions will undoubtedly save lives and help families rebuild after this devastating flood. However, the road to recovery is long, and we continue to seek the support of individuals, communities, and organizations to join us in our mission. Together, we can extend our reach and make an even greater impact on the lives of those affected.

In times of crisis, we are reminded of the strength that comes from unity. While the floods have caused widespread devastation, the collective efforts of our partners and supporters are helping pave the way toward recovery and resilience.

Together, we can continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
