Restoring Hope: Rebuilding Child Care Academy in the Aftermath of Devastation
Child Care Academy, established in 1999 in Begumganj, Noakhali, has long stood as a cornerstone of education in the region. As the first school in the area, it opened doors to knowledge and opportunity for children, fostering academic progress and inspiring dreams. Today, it continues to serve approximately 250 students, from nursery to fifth grade, as a vital hub of learning.
However, the devastating floods that swept through the region brought immense challenges to this institution. Cracked floors, crumbling walls, and an unstable foundation left the school in a dire state. One of the aging roofs began to leak, making it difficult—sometimes nearly impossible—to hold classes. Yet, despite these adversities, the school administration remained undeterred. Through sheer determination and dedication, they kept the doors open for their students, ensuring that education continued even amidst adversity.

Recognizing their resilience and the school’s critical role in the community, we stepped in to help rebuild what the floods had damaged. Working closely with the school authorities, we undertook a comprehensive rehabilitation initiative. The cracked floors were replaced, the broken walls repaired, and the leaking roof was restored. Step by step, the school was transformed into a safe and welcoming environment where children could focus on learning without disruption.
This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of Sunbeams, whose financial contribution and partnership were instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Their commitment to education and community upliftment helped turn this vision into reality.
Child Care Academy’s story is a testament to the power of collective effort. Together, we have not only rebuilt a school but also reaffirmed our shared belief in the importance of education for every child, regardless of their circumstances.
