She works as a housemaid to support her family, but when work opportunities dry up, she’s forced to resort to begging to ensure her daughters have food to eat. The devastating floods struck her home with such ferocity that it became completely uninhabitable, leaving Maya and her daughters with nowhere to turn.

Her plight reached us through the compassionate voices of the local community, and we knew immediate action was needed. With her family struggling for survival, we took the initiative to rebuild her home, offering not just shelter but a renewed sense of stability and hope.

Upon seeing her new home, Maya shared, “This new home has given me and my daughters a renewed strength to live. I used to live in constant worry, but now, at least, I can have peace of mind. It’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.” Her words reminded us why this work matters—to transform lives and bring comfort where there was once only despair.
