IHF x Gorur Ghash: Delivering Aid to 500 Families

With over 5 Million individuals affected owing to floodwaters causing substantial damage to 541 unions and municipalities, IHF and Gorur Ghash teamed up to provide emergency relief across eastern Bangladesh.

In August2024, Bangladesh experienced one of the most severe floods in its recenthistory. This action led to an unusual overflow along the eastern belt ofthe country. Floodwaters have severely impacted normalcy across the districts of Feni, Cumilla, Noakhali, Khagrachhari, Habiganj, Chandpur, Cox'sBazar, Munshiganj, Sylhet, Lakshmipur, Chattogram, and Brahmanbaria.

Our emergency response teams are working tirelessly to ensure the delivery of aid across the affected districts; from distributing essential food items and clean drinking water, to providing medical assistance and temporary shelter.

On August 30, 2024, Gorur Ghash made a significant contribution by sending a truck full of emergency supplies to the IHF headquarters. We have dispatched packages of dry food, drinking water, and essential medicines to stranded families to help alleviate their immediate distress. This shipment also included basic grocery packages ready for affected families. These packages consist of rice, lentil, potato, salt and cooking oil.

Here at IHF, we are indeed grateful for this act of generosity from Gorur Ghash.
