IHF Team visits Injured Students Following Quota Reformation Protest 2024

In response to the injuries sustained during the Quota Reformation Protest, Team It’s Humanity Foundation visited the affected students at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital on August 10, 2024, to provide essential support and care.

In the aftermath of the Quota Reformation Protest, which began in July 2024, numerous students found themselves in dire situations, having sustained injuries during the demonstrations. On 10th August 2024, these young individuals, who were admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, received a visit from It’s Humanity Foundation.

The IHF team members present during the visit included Md. Adnan Hossain, Founder and Executive Director; Ms. Bashira Harun, Chairman; Mr. Rezwan Rahman, IHF Advisory Board Chair; and Mr. Al-Nayeem, Senior Officer, Education Program.

This visit was more than just an act of solidarity; it was a critical intervention aimed at addressing the immediate and pressing needs of these courageous students. The protest, which resonated deeply across the nation, unfortunately led to many students being injured. These young people, who bravely stood up for their beliefs, now face the challenge of recovery. Understanding the profound impact on their lives and the lives of their families, IHF stepped in quickly to offer much-needed financial and logistical support.

During the visit, 50 injured students, each with a unique story of resilience and bravery, were met with care and concern. With the invaluable support of the dedicated team of doctors at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, those most in need of urgent and enhanced medical care were identified. Thanks to the expertise and cooperation of the dedicated team of doctors at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, these students and their families received financial assistance to ensure they could access the necessary resources to recover and continue their educational journeys.

This movement is a testament to the strength and determination of these students, who, despite facing significant challenges, remain focused on their futures. It also highlights the crucial role that community support plays in times of crisis. The constant support from donors has enabled swift and effective responses, providing the critical assistance needed to help these students through their recovery.
