Empowering Through Digital Literacy: Md. Tawfik Ansary’s Remarkable Journey

Md. Tawfik Ansary, a Class 7 student from The Kites Academy (IHF School, Syedpur Campus) is turning heads in his community since completing the Digital Literacy Course under the Ankur Project. This initiative by It's Humanity Foundation aims to bridge the digital divide and empower marginalized communities by equipping students with essential digital skills.

During the course, Tawfik gained foundational knowledge in computer operations, graphic design, and safe Internet practices. The curriculum also introduced freelancing platforms, teaching students to create profiles, communicate professionally with clients, and navigate the digital marketplace. Tawfik stood out by successfully completing several graphic design projects, earning his first income—a moment of pride not only for him and his well-wishers.

To deepen the learning of this cohort, additional sessions were held post-completion, providing hands-on demonstrations and addressing practical challenges faced on freelancing platforms. The extra sessions offered a comprehensive understanding of the freelancing ecosystem, ensuring students are well-prepared for the digital workspace.

The journey has been transformative for Tawfik. Generating income for his family, has bolstered his confidence and fueled his ambition to refine his graphic design skills further. His story has inspired his peers, igniting a newfound enthusiasm for learning and proving that perseverance and skill development can lead to tangible rewards.

By fostering digital literacy and offering continued mentorship, the program is preparing students to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Md. Tawfik Ansary’s success is a shining example of what’s possible when young minds are empowered, setting the stage for a future where they can continue to meaningfully contribute to their families and communities.
