CGS Dhaka Extends a Helping Hand to IHF’s Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Initiatives

At It's Humanity Foundation , our work is driven by the belief that in times of crisis, partnerships are the key to making a lasting difference. We are thrilled to acknowledge the generous support of Chittagong Grammar School (CGS) Dhaka, which has stepped forward to aid our ongoing flood relief and rehabilitation efforts across eastern Bangladesh.

The recent floods have wreaked havoc on the lives of millions, leaving families displaced, homes destroyed, and livelihoods disrupted. Responding to this crisis, CGS Dhaka has contributed 330 relief packages, each containing essential household items such as pots, pans, containers, and other utensils. These seemingly simple items are far more than just practical tools—they represent the first steps toward helping families regain a sense of normalcy and dignity in their daily lives.

When disaster strikes, the immediate response focuses on providing food, shelter, and medical aid. However, as the initial chaos subsides, the path to long-term recovery and rehabilitation begins. In these moments, families need more than just sustenance; they need the tools to rebuild their homes and restore their ability to lead independent lives. The items provided by CGS Dhaka—pots, pans, and containers—are critical to this process.

Cooking utensils enable families to prepare their own meals, restoring a crucial element of normalcy and dignity. After weeks of relying on emergency food aid, the ability to cook a warm meal for one’s family brings comfort and a sense of empowerment. Additionally, items like containers and storage units are vital for families who are starting to rebuild their homes, allowing them to store essentials like food, water, and other supplies safely.

These 330 relief packages are being distributed in some of the most severely affected areas, where many families have lost everything. By providing essential household items, CGS Dhaka is helping families reclaim a degree of self-reliance, giving them the tools to begin the slow but steady process of rehabilitation. In many ways, these items symbolize hope—a sign that life, though interrupted by disaster, can slowly return to a more stable and sustainable routine.

The community spirit demonstrated by CGS Dhaka, from the students to the teachers and parents, exemplifies the power of collective action. Their generosity and quick mobilization not only provide immediate relief but also contribute to the longer-term recovery of the affected families. These efforts underscore the CGS community’s enduring commitment to social responsibility, demonstrating that quality education goes beyond the classroom and extends into the broader responsibility of making the world a better place.

At IHF, we are deeply grateful for this partnership. The collaboration with CGS Dhaka is a shining example of how institutions can playa pivotal role in disaster recovery efforts. Together, we are providing more than just relief—we are offering a lifeline to families struggling to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the floods.

As we continue our efforts in distributing these relief packages, we look forward to working alongside CGS Dhaka and other valued partners in ensuring that these communities not only recover but emerge stronger and more resilient. By providing practical support, hope, and solidarity, we are collectively contributing to the reinvigoration of flood-affected communities across Bangladesh.
